Description

Williamson County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is hosting its 5th Annual “Voices for Children” fundraiser, presented by Jackson, at the Franklin Theatre on Thursday, May 12. The evening will benefit the local non-profit and its mission to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children within the county’s juvenile court system.

Grammy-winning songwriters Chris DeStefano and Marcus Hummon--and a few of their acclaimed musical friends--will take the stage with players from the Nashville Studio Symphony for a one-of-a-kind musical event dubbed “Music City Hit-Makers: Where Song Meets Symphony” that promises to pull out all the stops at the 300-seat venue in Historic Downtown Franklin.

By attending Voices, you are giving money that directly helps break the cycle of abuse and neglect within Williamson County families. Each dollar raised goes to CASA’s vision of providing every abused and neglected child a safe and permanent home.

Voices guests will kick off the night with a cocktail hour that includes hors d’oeuvres compliments of MStreet Nashville--the group that provides some of Nashville’s most beloved dining spots, like Kayne Prime and Virago--and wine and beer compliments of Horizon Wine and Spirits and Yazoo Brewing Company. The evening will host a live auction with prizes that include adventurous getaways, celebrity styling, music packages, and more.

The proceeding performance featuring the Music City Hit-Makers will lend a unique aspect to the evening that is “so Nashville,” with the featured artists sharing the stories behind some of the songs they’ve penned.

As a songwriter, Chris DeStefano has multiple #1 songs with artists such as Carrie Underwood (“Good Girl”, "Little Toy Guns,” Something In The Water”), Billy Currington (“Hey Girl”), Brett Eldredge ("Don't Ya"), Luke Bryan ("That's My Kind of Night", "Kick the Dust Up" ), Miranda Lambert & Carrie Underwood ("Somethin' Bad"), Rascal Flatts ("Rewind") and Jason Aldean ("Just Gettin' Started"), among others.  He will be joined by Marcus Hummon who has co-written songs for many country music artists, including Top 40 singles for Tim McGraw, Wynonna Judd, and Alabama, as well as three #1 country hits for the Dixie Chicks ("Cowboy Take Me Away"), Sara Evans (“Born to Fly”), and Rascal Flatts (“Bless the Broken Road”).

Charles Judge, ACM Keyboard/Piano Player of the Year, will arrange the performance and lead the players that hail from the Nashville Studio Symphony, with some of Middle Tennessee’s best studio musicians.
