THE CAUSE

These talented artists are performing for the Joshua Chamberlain Society of Nashville to raise funds for local severely wounded military men and women. The goal of the Joshua Chamberlain Society/Nashville is to aid severely wounded military service members and families of killed-in-action service members who sacrificed all for our Nation who are from Middle TN. JCS/Nashville is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity with all funds raised going to aid our heroes. We believe our mission is unique because we adopt these severely wounded soldiers as JCS/Nashville heroes and stay with them for the remainder of their lives…  Just as their injuries will be with them for the remainder of their lives.

JCS/Nashville has now adopted our first Hero, Cpl. Jeremy Voels.  Jeremy is paralyzed from the chest down due to injuries sustained in Afghanistan in 2010.  JCS/Nashville was able to have an all handicapped accessible addition added to his parents’ home near Clarksville so he could come home and be with his family after being in hospitals for four years. It will always be a challenge to raise funds to aid our current hero, Cpl. Voels and ultimately more heroes in the future.  Through the support of our community, we feel we can meet this challenge.  We thank you for your interest and hope you will join our JCS/Nashville family for an evening of inspiration and extraordinary entertainment.

THE ARTISTS

LEE ROY PARNELLL • Lee Roy Parnell is part of a long line of Texas roots-music eclectics and is among the elite few who can be identified as a triple threat. An ace guitarist, as well as a distinctive singer, and hit songwriter, his music runs the gamut of diversity. Combining the influences of Blue-Eyed Soul, Delta Blues, Road House Rock, Southern Boogie, Texas Swing, and Gospel, Parnell’s sound defies conventional classification. He draws from a broad range of musical sources and combines them with seamless dexterity and, unlike many other hard-to-pigeonhole artists, Parnell has enjoyed a run of success on the country and blues charts.

SCOTT MACINTYRE • Scott MacIntyre is a multi-talented singer, songwriter, inspirational speaker, and author. As the first blind American Idol Finalist, he inspired millions around the world with his heartfelt vocals and contagious spirit of optimism. Since then, he has continued to perform internationally, moving audiences to laughter, tears, and standing ovations. Just days before the release of his latest album Lighthouse, the news broke that Scott is facing kidney failure for the second time in his life. He received his first kidney transplant seven years ago, but that kidney is now failing and Scott has about six months of kidney function left before needing dialysis. Determined to overcome adversity, Scott announced in People Magazine, “I won’t let kidney failure slow me down!” He will inspire you and amaze you with his spirit, his attitude, and his exceptional talent.

STRAY DAWGS OF NASHVILLE • Stray Dawgs is a “flexible” Americana compilation that varies from time to time featuring “A Team” Nashville musicians that supplement the nucleus duo of Jim Hendricks and Phil “Delta” Dildine. Music Icon Jim Hendricks has an illustrious career that dates back to the 60’s when he and “Mama” Cass Elliott were in a band called “The Big Three”. Hendricks and Elliott formed another group called “The Mugwumps” with several other notable musicians, including John Sebastian. That group later split into two groups, “The Lovin’ Spoonful” and The Mamas and The Papas”. Hendricks wrote “Summer Rain”, a huge hit for Johnny Rivers. Phil ”Delta” Dildine is also a veteran musician and fronted the five time WAMI Award winning group in the Midwest, “Phil Delta and The River Delta Band”. Phil is proud to have penned most of the group’s original songs that focus shining light on the plight of Wounded Military Heroes.

PAT MCLAUGHLIN • "Pat McLaughlin is a tasty, rootsy gem." says David Wild, Rolling Stone Magazine. Peter Cooper, Music Columnist for The Tennessean, attempts to capture McLaughlin’s unique talent and style as "Groove and Soul, slink and stutter, groove and soul, wisdom and pain, groove and soul."  Michael Ross, No Depression Magazine, sums up Pat as "Four corners is a single point in America where the states of Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico meet. Pat McLaughlin's music is similarly a convergence point, where R&B, country, pop, and rock 'n' roll conjoin."
