Battle of Franklin Preservation Event:
Remembering Robert Hicks and screening of the Emmy award winning film on the Battle of Franklin.
A very rare showing on the big screen of the Emmy Award winning film, “The Battle of Franklin”. The program will include a brief panel discussion and tribute to the late author and preservationist Robert Hicks, with Q & A on the battle, the film, and preservation efforts followed by the showing of the 74-minute documentary on the battle, which was shown on PBS.
Booklist -- ". . . an exceptional program for both students and Civil War buffs . . . worthy to be alongside filmmaker Ken Burns' acclaimed The Civil War.”
Robert Hicks -- “It’s just great cinematography… The film very much captures the emotion that I would envision was felt at the Battle of Franklin.”
