Description
This intimate and fun evening of American Roots music celebrates favorite timeless classics, blended with original songs and features Grammy level guest artists, songwriters and musicians, along with their Nashville A-team band. Your hosts Chris and Jan Harris (aka Rodeo and Juliet) have spent the past 40 years producing, singing, touring & writing with a wide array of artists - Stevie Ray Vaughn, Loretta Lynn, Amy Grant, Kristin Chenoweth, Michael W Smith and CeCe Winans just to name a few. Come celebrate this summer and make musical memories with the “Dear Hearts and Gentle People” of Franklin Tennessee.

Leigh Nash was raised in the Texas Hill Country, where the radio stations played country music and the small towns rang with mariachi bands. She started singing in country bands when she was 13. But things really changed for her when she joined a band called Sixpence None the Richer, and moved to Nashville, which ultimately introduced the pop world to her signature sparkling vocal and had a huge successful run that included Top 5 hits like "Kiss Me" and “There She Goes.”

Then in 2006 Nash kicked off her acclaimed solo career, spending the past decade exploring everything from folk to electronic music. Her new project “The State I'm In” marks a return to her days in the Lone Star State, with Nash whipping up a combination of Texas twang, Spanish influences, orchestral pop hooks and heartbroken lyrics. In classic country style, she sings about heartache and bad luck in a voice that swoons and sweeps, backed by a band whose members include Emmylou Harris and Wanda Jackson's pianist, Jack White's ace fiddle player and award-winning a cappella group Street Corner Symphony. It’s a wide-ranging, left-of-center, Latin American-tinged country album, with songs that tip their hat to the past, while still moving forward It feels like she’s finding new life in older sounds. Nash invite’s us to keep cruising with her with music for drives across America, juke joints, make-out sessions, breakups & gospel services. As the saying goes, “You can take the girl out of Texas…”
