Description

Team Innis Productions is proud to announce the 3rd Annual “Jammin For One Gen Away” Concert, September 26, 2017, at the historic Franklin Theatre.

Contemporary saxophonist Michael Lington returns to headline for the third time, along with the debut of country duo, The Okies, with Oklahoma Hall of Fame Members Dave Innis and Paul Gregg of Restless Heart fame.

The star-studded event, hosted by Newschannel 5 anchor Steve Hayslip, will feature a celebration of One Generation Away and their work to eliminate hunger in America. All artists are donating their time and talent and 100% of the proceeds will benefit OneGen. For every dollar raised, OneGenAway can purchase $16 of nutritious food to distribute to families in need in Middle Tennessee.

The event will include legendary musicians and artists from LA to Nashville, including guest stars Heath Wright of Ricochet fame, and Country Soul singer/songwriter James Otto. Bruce Gaitsch, Tim Denbo, Scott Sheriff, Dan Needham, and Keith & Janna Landry comprise the world class house band, among other surprise guests!

Says Innis, “We are so grateful to continue to bring awareness to an exceptional charity three years in a row, fighting hunger & poverty in our community and beyond. To be able to amass such a talented group of entertainers each year who all generously give of themselves is humbling. You don’t want to miss this show!”

More Artist Information:

Michael Lington

From his 1997 self-titled debut through 2012’s star-studded Pure, Michael Lington has wowed, seduced and surprised his fans continuously with infectious melodies, rich emotion, funky grooves and a powerful innate force that can only be described as Soul Appeal – the name of his career and consciousness shifting new album. Now that the urban jazz superstar has gone mainstream, he’s full steam ahead like no one’s ever heard him before, blazing a fresh, innovative road for himself with a freewheeling immersion into the heart of the 60’s and 70’s Memphis Soul vibe.

All of the beloved saxophonist’s seven previous acclaimed recordings, countless hit radio singles and hundreds of awe inspiring live performances over the past 15 years are now simply prelude to the fresh energy and live excitement he created on the new CD produced by Barry J. Eastmond. When he’s not recording or performing, Lington manages his own cigar company, Michael Lington Cigars, and he recently launched Lington Wines (www.lingtonwines.com), his own boutique line of red and white wines out of Paso Robles on California’s Central Coast.

The Okies

Dave Innis is an accomplished keyboardist, vocalist, and original member of the critically-acclaimed vocal group, Restless Heart, Paul Gregg is a talented bass player and vocalist, and is also an original member of restless heart. Both are recent inductees into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. The band Restless Heart heralds six Grammy nominations, five CMA nominations, as well as winning the Academy of Country Music’s Vocal Group of the Year Award, and obtaining five riaa certified gold records on rca.

Dave and Paul’s latest project, The Okies, is a powerhouse duo featuring the music of Restless Heart…deep cuts, fan requests, and hits with new musical treatments, combined with colorful stories from behind the scenes. The Okies are excited to share the stage with select special guest stars, including fellow Oklahoman Heath Wright of Ricochet fame, and Miami, OK native Keith Anderson, where they can combine talents and play each other’s hits, along with new music.

Says Innis, “THE OKIES started as an idea that sprung from years of fan requests…Paul and I wanted a way to give back to our incredible fans and share a more intimate look into our lives, sing the songs that they have asked to hear in our shows, and to give them the backstory on 35 years of friendship and music. We thought it would be really cool to feature some of our talented artist friends (Okies and others), SO you get their hits, along with fresh takes on our hits, plus deep cuts, and new music. Ideally, that’s what we’ve done with The Okies, created an original, immersive musical event.”

Dave and Paul are both based in the Nashville area and continue to write, sing, tour, and perform regularly. For more information on booking The Okies, visit buddyleeattractions.com.
