Spend your New Year's Eve with Studio Tenn, The Franklin Theatre, and The Harpeth. The FIRST NEW YEAR'S EVE downtown celebration. The countdown to 2022 promises a Franklin Party like no other. Music and live performances will create magic on the Franklin Theatre stage. Hosted by Patrick Cassidy with special musical guests. Sing & Dance the night away as we say goodbye to the year that was, and celebrate the magnificent year that will be. The night continues at The Harpeth hotel with a celebration that rings in 2022 like no other. Enjoy dancing, entertainment, hosted premium bar, hors d’oeuvres and champagne toast at a midnight countdown. Dress Code: Festive, Chic, and Ready to Dance!

BIOS


Patrick Cassidy, Artistic Director: The son of Oscar winner Shirley Jones and Tony winner Jack Cassidy, Patrick comes to Studio Tenn from Southern California, where he was artistic director of the regional theater company 5-Star Theatricals. He produced a string of acclaimed productions there, including The Music Man starring Adam Pascal (Rent) as Harold Hill and Beauty and the Beast with Susan Egan reprising her Tony-nominated role as Belle. His directing resume includes: The Music Man at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., andOklahoma! at Pittsburgh Playhouse. At Las Vegas’ Wynn Hotel, he was resident director of Showstoppers and acting coach for Le Rêve. Patrick’s long history on Broadway includes starring roles in
The Pirates of Penzance, Leader of the Pack, Annie Get Your Gun and Elton John’s Aida. When he and his mom joined the revival of 42nd Street, they became the first mother and son to ever star together in a Broadway show. Off-Broadway, he originated the role of the Balladeer in Stephen Sondheim’s Assassins. On TV, Patrick starred with Alec Baldwin in the miniseries Dress Gray, filled Patrick Swayze’s dancing shoes in Dirty Dancing and guested on ER, Smallville, CSI: Miami, K.C. Undercover and Law & Order: SVU. The ABC Family series Ruby & the Rockits gave Patrick a chance to work with his brothers: David was his co-star, Shaun was the creator and Ryan was set decorator. On the big screen, his most cherished project is Longtime Companion, the groundbreaking drama that was the first to depict the emotional toll of the AIDS crisis. Patrick and his wife of 25 years, choreographer/dance teacher Melissa Hurley Cassidy, have two sons: Cole, a mechanical engineer/guitarist in Irvine, Calif., and Jack, a singer-songwriter (and Franklin resident) signed to Nashville’s Fair Trade Services label.


John Mark McGaha: Broadway World calls his voice "crystal-clear perfection." Singer, storyteller, actor, music director, and multi-instrumentalist John-Mark McGaha starred Off-Broadway in the musical Cafe A Gogo.Other credits include playing jazz great Lionel Hampton in the world premier of Tuxedo Junction;Smokey Joe's Cafe; Violet; The Ray Charles Legacy; The Sinatra Legacy; and The Cash Legacy at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium. His musical directing credits include Bat Boy; Cinderella; Red Mountain Christmas, and Gospel at the George: An Easter Celebration in Houston, TX. Television appearances include a musical guest spot in BETs Centric Celebrates Selma: 50th Anniversary Music Special. Concerts include Signed, Sealed Delivered: John-Mark McGaha Sings Stevie Wonder and A Nat King Cole Christmas. The Birmingham, Alabama native began playing classical piano at the age of five. McGaha attended Birmingham Southern College as well as The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in New York. His central passion is worshipping God in spirit and truth, and he serves as Director of Contemporary Worship and Arts at Trinity United Methodist Church in Birmingham. John-Mark and his wife Grace have five beautiful children.


Jackie Burns: Jackie Burns is Broadway’s longest-running Elphaba in the smash hit Broadway musical Wicked. She can soon be seen in the new film “The Magnificent Meyersons” opposite Richard Kind and Kate Mulgrew, and an upcoming episode of the new Starz series, “Ghost.” Burns toured the country as Elizabeth in the national tour of If/Then, having appeared in the original cast of the new musical on Broadway. Jackie also appeared in the original company of the Tony Award-winning revival of Hair. Off-Broadway credits include Rock of Ages (original company) and Unlock’d. Jackie has also played Elphaba on tour, earning an Irene Award nomination for her performance.  Regionally, Jackie has appeared at Paper Mill, PCLO, Casa, CRT and on film in Set It Up.
