SuperNova

“If you blend Miles Davis with Dave Matthews, add a little nitro to the mix, this is what you get!"

BILL EVANS
Tenor sax titan Bill Evans is a force of jazz evolution - a player who emerged from the crucible of Miles Davis' band and carved his own trail through funk, fusion, and beyond. With multiple Grammy nominations and a tone that can whisper or roar, Evans seamlessly bridges past and present, tradition and innovation. His collaborations stretch from Herbie Hancock to Willie Nelson to Peter Frampton, but it’s his own genre-bending projects - like Soulgrass and the Vansband All-Stars - that reveal the full range of his imagination. A saxophonist, bandleader, and fearless improviser, Bill Evans doesn’t follow the jazz map - he redraws it. With 27 solo CD’s to date and 80 shows a year in Europe with his own groups, this is a rare appearance in the USA.

JEFF COFFIN
Jeff Coffin is more than a saxophonist - he’s a sonic explorer. Known for his boundary-shattering work with Béla Fleck & the Flecktones and the Dave Matthews Band, Coffin weaves jazz, funk, and world music into a language all his own. A three-time Grammy winner, he’s as passionate about education as he is performance, mentoring young musicians at Vanderbilt and across the globe. On stage, Coffin blazes with improvisational fire and fierce precision; offstage, he champions the power of community through music. Whether conducting clinics or recording with genre-defying artists, Jeff Coffin doesn’t just play notes - he creates new musical ecosystems.

KEITH CARLOCK - Drums
Keith Carlock plays drums like the earth turning - with unshakable gravity and unpredictable brilliance. Raised in Mississippi and schooled by the blues, Carlock has anchored legends like Steely Dan, John Mayer, Sting, and Toto, blending explosive technique with deep, undeniable groove. His playing is a study in contrasts: explosive yet restrained, cerebral yet visceral. Whether in a packed arena or a smoky jazz club, Keith’s rhythmic intuition is magnetic, guiding listeners through every twist of time. He’s not just a drummer - he’s a storyteller with sticks.

BUDDY STRONG - Keys
From the sanctified pulse of church organs in Phoenix to stadium-filling grooves with Dave Matthews Band, Buddy Strong’s musical journey has always been driven by feel, fire, and faith.

A prodigy raised on gospel, funk, and R&B, Buddy first made waves on tour with Usher, later lending his keyboard wizardry to a who’s-who of pop and hip-hop royalty - Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Miley Cyrus, Pharrell Williams, and more. Whether backing megastars or laying down studio heat, he became known for his fluid touch, soulful improvisation, and uncanny ability to elevate every song he touches.

In 2018, Buddy stepped into the eclectic world of Dave Matthews Band, instantly reshaping their sound with gospel-tinged flourishes, rhythmic punch, and deep harmonic colors. More than a sideman, he became an essential voice - injecting the band’s improvisations with urgency, joy, and fearless exploration. Onstage, he’s kinetic energy incarnate: laughing, testifying, dancing behind the keys as if every solo were a sermon.

A natural collaborator and sonic alchemist, Buddy Strong transmits something raw, honest, and human. His style is a fusion of church and cosmos, groove and grace, always in service of the moment, always chasing the soul in the song.

JON ESTES - Bass
Jon Estes is the kind of musician whose fingerprints are all over the Nashville sound - you just might not know it. A bassist, producer, arranger, engineer, and multi-instrumentalist, Jon moves through studios like a musical chameleon, effortlessly adapting to whatever the moment calls for. From the upright bass to the electric, he brings a melodic sensibility and rhythmic precision that lifts every track he touches.

He’s recorded and toured with artists ranging from Dolly Parton to Kesha, Béla Fleck to Robyn Hitchcock. His sound is just as likely to show up in a country ballad as it is in a jazz improvisation, indie rock anthem, or animated DreamWorks score. Whether he’s orchestrating strings, building beats, or laying down the groove, Jon is a deeply intentional artist - committed to both craft and curiosity.

He lives in Nashville, but his work travels the world - resonating through albums, films, video games, and television. For Jon Estes, music isn’t just performance - it’s design, dialogue, and exploration.
