An intimate evening with Purple Heart recipient and Black River recording artist, Scotty Hasting. Scotty shares stories of survival and resilience and how music helped him come out of the dark to reclaim his hope. Throughout the journey, Scotty will perform the soundtrack to his life - a mix of originals and covers that influenced the soldier he was and the man he is becoming. Scotty hopes those joining him will find connection in acknowledging, despite varied circumstances, we all face demons and adversity, but each day is truly worth living out GRATEFUL.
Hailing from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky, Purple Heart recipient Scotty Hasting served as an Army infantryman with the 1st Infantry Division, 4th Squadron, 4th Cavalry. In April 2011, he was shot ten times during a combat mission in Afghanistan and left fighting for his life. After years of miraculous recovery, Hasting found healing through music, first picking up a guitar in 2020.
A chance encounter led him to Black River Entertainment, where he signed in late 2023. His debut single, “How Do You Choose,” preceded the EP I’m America (2024), praised by Billboard as a “promising, impactful debut,” followed by “Til The Last Shot’s Fired” with Lee Brice and Dolly Parton.
In 2024, Hasting performed at the 80th anniversary D-Day commemorations in Normandy and made his Grand Ole Opry debut. His latest release in 2025, “Scars,” reflects his mission to help others find healing, as he continues to inspire audiences nationwide.
