BOWEN YOUNG

BOWEN * YOUNG is comprised of the Nashville-based duo, Clare Bowen and Brandon Robert Young, whose real-life love story reads like one of their songs. Clare, known to millions as Scarlett on "Nashville," hails from rural Australia; Brandon, a Connecticut-born melody-spinner, met her onstage at Bridgestone Arena in 2013 as a last-minute sub. The chemistry was instant. Two years later, Brandon proposed at the Ryman. In 2017, John Carter Cash married them at the Cash Cabin.

Their debut album, 'Us,' is a 10-track testament to that journey: raw, ethereal, and unafraid, from the haunting 'Dangerous Love' to songs that have resonated far beyond Nashville.

Clare and Brandon reunited with their "Nashville" castmates (Charles Esten, Jonathan Jackson, and Sam Palladio) for a worldwide encore tour in 2026. Plus Clare, Brandon, and Jonathan are also touring together. As artist advisors for Nashville Basement Stage, they champion young independent songwriters, bringing their circle of singer-songwriter friends to the Franklin Theatre stage.

Ryan Kinder

Ryan Kinder's journey began in the clubs of Birmingham, Alabama, and has since carried him to Nashville, national tours, and over 100 million streams. Known for his soulful voice, electrifying guitar work, and emotionally honest songwriting, Kinder blends riff-driven rock with Southern soul.

His debut album Room to Dream introduced a bold, polished artist. Now, with the acoustic project The Beginning of Things (out November 7), Ryan returns to his roots; a stripped-down, 12-track reimagining of the first songs he wrote after moving to Nashville, recorded with longtime collaborator Luke Sheets. Among them: "Kiss Me When I'm Down," the song that landed his first record deal.

Justin Halpin

Nashville-based songwriter and producer, Justin Halpin has written or collaborated on projects that have been used in hundreds of film, television, advertising and trailer placements. His music has been featured on all major Streaming and Network television outlets, including Showtime, HBO, the NFL, NHL, MLB, and national ADs for Chevrolet and others. He creates and collaborates under the monikers: Unions, First Time Thieves, Track Team Dropouts, Wilder Banks, and UpUpUp.

Justin has had songs recorded by major label recording artists in the U.S., Canada, Europe and Australia. He is currently signed to a worldwide publishing deal through a joint venture with Spirit Music Nashville and Fluid Music Revolution, writing for artists in Country, Pop, Film & Television, and the Musical Theatre.

Cale Dodds

Cale Dodds' rock-flavored country sound sets him apart from the pack. The Georgia native moved to Nashville in 2011 and hit the road touring with Sam Hunt, Brett Eldredge, Billy Currington, and Chase Rice while featuring rock-n-roll with a country soul. Before signing with Warner Music Nashville, he independently racked up 30+ million streams the old-fashioned way: touring hard and earning fans face to face.

Rolling Stone named him a "New Country Artist You Need To Know," CMT Listen Up spotlighted him among "country music's most promising newcomers," and Pandora tapped him as a "Top Artist to Watch."

As a songwriter, Dodds penned Chase Rice's two-week #1 "Drinkin' Beer, Talkin' God, Amen" (ft. Florida Georgia Line), with placements on ESPN, CBS, Madden NFL, and national Chevy and Ram campaigns. Additional cuts include Chris Young, Scotty McCreery, and Cassadee Pope.

FTSS this month is in partnership with Nashville Basement Stage

Nashville Basement Stage is a patron-funded organization providing support to independent artists in the Nashville area.  They formed in 2016 as a house concert venue, assisting artists through the pandemic and the tornados that shut down certain venue.  In 2024, NBS expanded into Nashville’s finest listening venues.  In addition to over 150 patrons, NBS has a roster of artists and artist advisors, including BOWEN*YOUNG, Trey Bruce and more.  Their mission is to find the others – patrons willing to support independent artists to keep live music alive.
