FILMMAKERS IN FRANKLIN (FiF Events) - a new Film Event Series, by Leah Allers, presents: The Angry Birds Movie, Q n’ A, and Meet & Greet, with Directors Fergal Reilly and Clay Kaytis
FERGAL REILLY (Director - ANGRY BIRDS) is a Los Angeles based director, writer, story and voiceover artist. Reilly began his career as an animator, and story artist working in live action, and animation.
His credits include: THE IRON GIANT (1999), SPACE JAM (1996), STUART LITTLE 2 (2002), Walt Disney’s THE HAUNTED MANSION (2003), SPIDER MAN 2 (2004), THE LONGEST YARD (2005), THE HEFFALUMP MOVIE (2005), OPEN SEASON (2006), CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS (2009), THE SMURFS MOVIE 1 (2011) and 2 (2013), and HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA (2012).
Reilly was hired, with Clay Kaytis, to direct THE ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE (2016). He also worked as a writing consultant for Fox Animation and was film advisor on the 2024 Academy Award Winner WAR IS OVER (2023). Recently he was a director at DreamWorks, partnering with the comedian / actor Tom Lennon on the book series RONAN BOYLE and THE BRIDGE OF RIDDLES.
Reilly writes, directs and develops movies and game/toy IP into films, through his company Pooka Pictures Inc.
CLAY KAYTIS (Director - THE ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE) is a Director, Screenwriter, and Animator who has loved making movies for over 30 years.
Two of his proudest moments from his 20 years as a Disney animator include supervising Rhino the hamster in BOLT (2008) and being Head of Animation on TANGLED (2010). Kaytis left Disney to direct, along with Fergal Reilly, THE ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE (2016). Then, Kaytis bounced between directing live-action and animated projects: THE CHRISTMAS CHRONICLES (2018), the Peanuts holiday specials FOR AULD LANG SYNE (2021) and TO MOM (AND DAD) WITH LOVE (2022), and A CHRISTMAS STORY CHRISTMAS (2022).
Kaytis develops new film and tv projects with his Producer Monica Lago-Kaytis through their production company Frogbot Films. They also created Frogbot Media to produce online content like THE ANIMATION PODCAST and NOW GO MAKE A MOVIE!, a channel where Kaytis shares his filmmaking experience to inspire people to make movies of their own.
LEAH ALLERS (FiF Founder & Producer) grew up in the world of film and animation- literally taking her first steps in an animation studio. She developed a passion for storytelling from her filmmaker father, Roger Allers (Disney icon and director of THE LION KING). After studying art, animation and filmmaking in college, and working in production for several years at Walt Disney Feature Animation, Leah pivoted to a performing arts career.
Leah went on to star as “Amneris” in national and international tours of Disney’s Broadway musical AIDA, and has performed at the Hollywood Bowl, Dorothy Chandler, and Carnegie Hall. TV credits include DAYS of OUR LIVES, CRIMINAL MINDS, ONCE UPON A TIME. Her Voice-Over work includes the animated movie, THE PROPHET, with Liam Neeson, lead dubbing on numerous Netflix series, audiobook narration for Harper Collins, commercials, promos, and video games.
Leah lives in Franklin, and spends her time working as a Voice Over artist, Actor, Singer, and private Voice coach. She runs FiF Events and is currently directing a documentary about her father Roger Allers and his work during the '80s and '90s Renaissance era at Disney Feature Animation.
