At an early age, Dave Barnes was exposed to classic soul, blues, and R&B by his parents and his community in Mississippi. While in college he began to realize that his calling was as a musician and songwriter. After graduating from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in recording industry management, Barnes relocated to Nashville. At first he gravitated to the acoustic folk scene and played solo gigs around on the local circuit, but in time decided to move in a more groove-oriented direction and began playing with a band.
Dave Barnes has spread like wild fire onto the Nashville music scene. With several sold out Nashville concerts under his belt and his song "God Gave Me You" on country radio being performed by Blake Shelton, there is no doubt that Dave is on the road to a long, successful career.
