This full-length Teen Edition of Anaïs Mitchell’s haunting, jazz-inflected folk opera follows Orpheus’ mythical quest to overcome Hades and regain the favor of his one true love, Eurydice.

In Hadestown, the gods Hades and Persephone rule over a bleak, industrial underworld, while Orpheus, a gifted musician, tries to save his beloved Eurydice from falling into despair. The story is set against a backdrop of economic hardship, where the characters must grapple with themes of love, sacrifice, fate, and resilience.

Performed by the talented teens of Act Too Players (Ages 14-18)
